The Guest
The idea
A form we have all seen in a garden. Here the scale changes and the folk paint disappears: only the silhouette remains, in an industrial orange.
The guest does not belong in the garden. Nor in the gallery.
Process
Concept
Start from the known figure and decide the single intervention: scale and colour.
Print
The figure is split into twelve parts to print at 80 cm.
Sanding
Seams, filler and sanding until the layers vanish.
Surface & colour
Primer and three coats of satin orange.

Signal Orange
Satin orange. The original.
Concrete Grey
Matte mineral grey.
